The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) held a press conference on Wednesday, 14 January 2009 at its headquarters in Manama on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain assuming the presidency of the group. Mr. Abdul Rahman M. ALBAKER, the MENAFATF president and Executive Director of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department, the Central Bank of Bahrain and Mr. Adel ALQULISH the MENAFATF Executive  Secretary, participated in the conference. They shed the light on the key features of the MENAFATF 2009 work plan and future activities and events. They also outlined the key achievements of the MENAFATF since it establishment and emphasized the important role the MENAFATF plays in the region in the field of anti-money laundering and the combating of the financing of terrorism.
