Dubai, UAE , 12-14 June 2023

The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), held a Regional Workshop on Counter Proliferation Financing (CPF), with the generous hosting of the United Arab Emirates IN Dubai, during the period of 12 – 14 June 2023.

The workshop was attended by experts from the Ministry of Interior, law enforcement agencies, investigation agencies (the Public Prosecution and other investigation agencies); financial intelligence units; and specialized agencies. The workshop dealt with many aspects related to the topic, the most important of which is understanding the various aspects of the issue of proliferation, the legal framework from the perspective of the United Nations and the Financial Action Task Force, identifying patterns of threats associated with it, assessing risks, how to address them, and the participation of the private sector in combating efforts. The workshop helped the participants from the member countries to gain important knowledge on the subject, and it also contributed to the transfer and exchange of experiences among the participants in this context.
