The 42nd Plenary of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), held in Rabat, witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral Memoranda of Understanding between member states, aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise and experiences in the fields of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and counter-proliferation financing.

The signed agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding between Libyan Financial Information Unit and the State of Palestine’s Financial Follow-up Unit, in addition to another Memorandum of Understanding between Libyan Financial Information Unit and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania’s Financial Information Analysis Commission (CANIF).

This step reflects the importance of regional cooperation and strengthening technical partnerships among member states, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness and readiness of AML/CFT/CPF frameworks across the region.
