The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), in cooperation with the FATF Training Institute and hosted by the Tunisian Financial Analysis Committee, launched today the training course entitled “FATF International Standards for the Middle East and North Africa Region.”

The opening session featured welcoming remarks by Ms. Masha Rechova, Director of the FATF Training Institute, Mr. Mohamed Chadhli Abdessalem, representing the Tunisian Financial Analysis Committee, and Mr. Suliman Al-Jabrin, Executive Secretary of MENAFATF.

The course aims to enhance participants understanding of international AML/CFT/CPF standards and strengthen their capacity to implement them effectively, thereby supporting member jurisdictions preparation for the third round of mutual evaluations and improving the effectiveness of national AML/CFT/CPF frameworks.

The program covers key topics including the FATF Recommendations, the methodology for assessing technical compliance and effectiveness, the components of an effective AML/CFT/CPF system, and emerging risks and challenges in the field.

The five-day course brings together approximately 40 participants from MENAFATF member countries and is delivered by a team of experienced international and regional experts.

The training forms part of MENAFATF’s ongoing efforts to support capacity building, enhance technical expertise, and promote the effective implementation of international standards across its member jurisdictions.
